What is Rotary?

Rotary is a worldwide organization of individuals from the business and professional world who have
dedicated themselves to humanitarian efforts. Similar minded people come to meet each other at Rotary Clubs. ***The forerunners of this idea are those Rotarians who exemplify the Rotarian principles in their own lives.

Goals and the Philosophy of Rotary

The goal of Rotary is to foster a readiness to help others in daily life. Rotary strives to achieve this goal in the following ways:

• Through acknowledgement of higher ethical tenets in private and professional life.
• As well as everyone placing of merit on beneficial activities for the general public.
• Through the encouragement of all Rotary Club members.

The "Four Way Test" applies to Rotary Club members on a daily basis:

2. Is it fair to all concerned?
3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
